CONDOLENCES to Charles Walsh

Carolyn A. Walsh, 58, of Greenville, RI and Miromar Lakes, FL, passed away peacfully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Col. Charles F. Walsh, RIANG, (Ret.) and mother of Charles M. Walsh.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Rita E. (O’Connor) Mullaney and the late John J. Mullaney. She had lived in Smithfield since their marriage in 1986 previously living in Warwick.

Carolyn was a graduate of Providence College, held a B.S. and M.A. She was a Director at Organogenesis of Canton, Massachusetts. She was a member of the RI Society of Certified Public Accountants.

She is also survived by her brother John J. Mullaney and her sisters: Arline E. McHugh and Diane C. Mullaney. She was the sister-in-law of Sheila Hampton (Dave), Timothy Walsh, John Walsh (Laurie), Michaela Reynolds (John), Mary -Elizabeth Fornaro (Tim) and the late Kathleen Walsh.

Carolyn was a passionate hockey mom, the cool aunt and auntie #2, interior design consultant and fashion critic for her friends and most importantly the voice of reason to many. She enjoyed travel, shopping, golf, shopping, shoes, shopping, numerous home renovations, time spent hosting all who entered her home and shopping. But her greatest joy in life was making lasting memories with big Charlie while raising little Charlie, who made her proud every minute of everyday. Because of all this and more, Carolyn will be missed dearly and celebrated by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday 4-8pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. CONDOLENCES to Bobby Perry

Many of you may have already heard this through “SF Brothers” on Facebook, but Bobby Perry’s son Dennis passed on Friday (Dennis used to be in the 173d LRSD. Bobby went down and made Dennis’ first jump with him right around the same time I did so with my son back in ‘93). He had a long-time infection which occurred during his deep-sea diving days and it persisted on and off for these 10 years. Each time it arose, it became more and more resistant to treatment. This last time nothing worked. Our brother made the (most difficult) call on his son last Friday

Further information about Bobby Perry’s son Dennis: Bob tells me (and asked if I would pass same on) that Dennis’ funeral will be at the J.H. Williams Funeral Home 210 Taunton Ave East Providence, Rhode Island 02914 Tel: (401) 434-2600 (http://www.jhwilliamsfuneralhome.com) this coming Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visiting hours will be followed by a memorial service later in the morning (his guess at this point would be about 11:00 a.m. give or take). I’ve included the website for the funeral home as that site has directions and other information.
